Post Containing a Metaphorical Statement Against the Former President of Peru

We welcome the Oversight Board’s decision today on this case which deals with a Facebook post that includes violent language the user claims is a “metaphorical statement” against former President of Peru Pedro Castillo while advocating for their “suspension.” The post was made within the context of impeachment proceedings that had been brought before the then-President.
Upon initial review, Meta removed this content for violating our Violence and Incitement policy, as laid out in the Facebook Community Standards. However, after the board brought the case to our attention, we determined that we had removed the content in error and reinstated the post.
There will be no further updates to this case.
