Subscription Services

Ads for subscription services must disclose information on pricing and recurrent billing.

Overview

Meta wants people to have transparent information about subscription products advertised across our technologies so that they are not misled or tricked into signing up for products or services.

Guidelines
  • Ads that prompt someone to enter personally identifiable information and meet any one of the following criteria are prohibited:
  • Does not include an unchecked opt-in checkbox (i.e. no checkbox exists or checkbox is pre-checked)
  • Does not include clear language informing someone how to cancel their subscription or membership
  • Does not not clearly show price and billing interval (i.e., placed at the bottom of page in fine print, buried in a privacy statement or on any separate link).
